CREATION OF ANCIENT BEADS NECKLACES
Traveling the world, and searching for beauty, Danielle has collected for years ancient and collectible beads.
The beauty of the ancient beads, the huge variety, the rarity and the mystery behind these small archeological items gave her the incentive over the years to study this field.
She was fascinated by the history, technology, cultural context, and colorful aspect behind these pieces of stones, glass, rock crystal, sea shells, bones that are thousand of years old! Beads have been used throughout the world as talismans in prehistoric societies, as status symbols in the ancient world, and as a standard medium of barter.
Each bead is therefore a capsule of cultural information, containing a fascinating tale of the origin of its material, its manufacturing, its multifold uses, perhaps its travel, and certainly its potent symbolism.
Therefore, Danielle decided to use her private collection of ancient beads in an artistically way, creating unique pieces, such as necklaces and earrings, mixing carnelian beads, roman glasses, agate, amber, lapis lazuli, coral, rock crystal, sea shells, bones, Phoenician, byzantine, biblical, Egyptian, faience, and Islamic beads.
In her jewelry, she use also beads that were found in the holy land after their long travel throughout the world, in the time frame from 4000 BCE, chalcolitic era, up to the late Islamic period 15th century A.D. In fact, the land of Israel was the centre of the ancient world, bridge between the 3 continents, Asia, Africa and Europe.
